Sophie’s Tips
Moving Home
Set up an important box for keys, tv remotes, screwdrivers, scissors, etc. You will need them when you get to your new house.

Kitchen
Keep silver from tarnishing by placing one or two pieces of chalk into the drawer. It will absorb moisture and slow the tarnishing process. This also works well for silver jewellery.

Clothes
If you haven’t worn it for two years, it’s time to go - either store it or take it to a charity shop. Allow yourself to keep a number of pieces for nostalgic reasons and it will make you feel better about letting go of the rest. Make sure all clothes are stored well with moth repellent sachets, remembering to change these every three months.
If you have a build up of spray starch on your iron that is causing it to stick, run the hot iron over a piece of aluminium foil to remove it.

Linen/Labelling
Don’t just use labels for children’s school clothing, labels are great for bed linen and towels - mark up for single, double, super king for sheets, pillowcases and duvets - this makes keeping the linen cupboard a lot easier and also helps other members of the family put things back in the right place.
